Sunday 20

On what turned out to be a wonderful day, 44 travelling bowlers from Kiama arrived at the club on Sunday morning for a social game of mixed triples against the locals.

After the usual morning tea, no rock cakes Valmae, bowlers got down to the serious business of bowling.

The Kiama bowlers surged to an early lead after the first end, but were eventually pegged back by the locals.

After game refreshments were interrupted by a wonderful barbecue lunch prepared by Morrie and Barney with salads provided by the ladies.

After lunch presentations were made including a gift bag for all bowlers, not a lolly bag unfortunately, and the Kiama bowlers departed.

Many thanks to those who helped make it a great day including Papa Hanley, Ma, Maureen, Bruce, Dianne and of course Nev O’Brien.

Just a short note for all bowlers that the State singles, pairs and fours for the Zone will be played at lake Conjola on the weekend of august 9 and 10 and all spectators will be most welcome.

Good bowling everyone.

8/09/2008 | When I heard that some obscure woman from Alaska had been selected as the Republican Party's vice-presidential nominee, my first reaction was not to check the cable news channels, or even the internet news sites. No, my first reaction was to go to YouTube.
